TECSAM network is a non profit R+D+i network in tech transfer funded by the Catalan government and lead by Parc Sanitari SJD. Our mission is to accelerate the valorization and transfer of mental health evidence-based solutions and technologies to promote society’s wellbeing and quality of life of people affected by mental health problems.
We bring together more than 400 innovative solutions in mental health developed by our members, 63 leading research groups from 26 Catalan institutions in the field of technology and mental health. Further, TECSAM incorporates over 50 reference entities linked to the promotion of mental health: innovation hubs, clusters, patients' associations, governmental entities, NGOs (including UNICEF), among others.
Currently, TECSAMs’ portfolio incorporates more than 400 innovative solutions targeting different areas related to brain science and mental health, including: prevention, unwanted loneliness, mental health at workplace, ageing, children and adolescent, neurological and cognition disorders... Regarding technologies, TECSAM includes Artificial Intelligence based solutions, eHealth, Virtual reality, computer vision, drug development... Beside these solutions, the network integrates over 1.000 researchers.
TECSAM has developed a tech transfer accelerator, accredited by BIOCAT (Catalan Governmental entity), which supports researchers and fosters collaboration between the academy and industry, and through which TECSAM has supported more than 70 projects, including 14 spin-offs and 12 licensed patents. In addition, TECSAM organizes key initiatives, such as the Mental Health Investment Forum, focused exclusively on brain and mental health solutions. The network is also supported by the RISE Center, a leading mental health innovation hub in Southern Europe. Its capabilities are reinforced by the SOM Health Lab, an accredited Living Lab by the European Network of Living Labs (ENOLL).
