The National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center for advanced specialized medical research established to investigate and combat cardiovascular diseases. Specializing in brain and cardiovascular diseases, the Center is advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions, as well as the elucidation of their pathophysiology. In 2019, the Center relocated to Kishibe, Suita City, becoming a world-class medical research institution that houses three entities—a hospital, a research institute, and an Open Innovation Center—all under one roof.
Both operating rooms and catheterization labs have been expanded. The operating rooms include four hybrid operating rooms capable of performing surgical procedures and catheter-based treatments simultaneously, and are equipped with state-of-the-art devices such as the Gamma Knife and PET scanners. A multidisciplinary team provides minimally invasive, safe, and high-quality treatment for cardiovascular diseases 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with the utmost consideration for the patient’s well-being. The hospital is also well-equipped for research and features a large-scale animal testing facility. Furthermore, one of the National Cardiovascular Center’s key features is its newly established Open Innovation Center (OIC). At the OIC, hospitals, research institutes, universities, and companies work together to develop next-generation medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and health-related businesses by addressing clinical needs and advancing technological innovations.
