The Belarusian Association of Insurers is a non-profit organization created by insurers and insurance brokers with the aim of coordinating the activities of its members, protecting their interests, and jointly solving problems in the field of insurance. The functions of the Association are also: - preparation of proposals for improving legislation and development of methodological materials on insurance issues; - determination and implementation of joint activity programs by members of the Association; - establishment and publication of periodicals on insurance issues; - organization of theoretical and practical symposiums, round tables, conferences, seminars on the insurance business, aimed at improving the qualifications and professional skills of specialists involved in the insurance industry; - promoting the introduction of new types of insurance; - information support for the activities of insurers, as well as assistance in establishing and expanding business contacts of BAS members with foreign insurance organizations and their associations. Currently, the Belarusian Association of Insurers includes 15 insurance organizations, 1 insurance broker and the Belarusian National Reinsurance Organization. Today, the Belarusian Association of Insurers is the only professional association of insurance organizations in the Republic of Belarus that has passed state registration in the prescribed manner. Any other organizations are not legal associations of insurers in Belarus.
