The Association of the Fish Products Producers – BG FISH is the leading representative organization of Bulgaria’s fisheries, aquaculture, and fish processing sectors. Founded in 2002, BG FISH is officially recognized as an interbranch organization under EU Regulation №1379/2013 and acts as a key link between producers, institutions, and international partners. BG FISH brings together the main stakeholders across the entire fishery value chain - fishery and aquaculture in Black Sea, freshwater aquaculture, processing factories, cold storages. Its members represent a significant share of national production: 53,3% of the wild fish catch and 36% of the aquaculture. BG FISH members play a vital role in ensuring stable supply, product quality, and competitiveness on the Bulgarian and European markets. The association’s core mission is to protect and promote the interests of its members through active dialogue with national authorities and EU institutions. BG FISH participates in policy development, regulatory consultations, and strategic initiatives aimed at creating fair, predictable, and sustainable conditions for the sector. Through its involvement in bodies such as the Black Sea Advisory Council, the association contributes to regional fisheries management and international cooperation. By uniting producers and strengthening cooperation across the industry, BG FISH works to enhance innovation, resilience, and visibility of Bulgarian fish products. The association remains committed to building a competitive, sustainable, and future-oriented fishery sector - from sea and farm to consumer.
