Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine and Kobe University Hospital Center for Medical Device Engineering Innovation and Translation, serve as a collaborative hub for industry–academia–healthcare partnerships in medical device innovation. By integrating unmet clinical needs identified in healthcare settings with technological seeds from academia and industry, we support medical device development throughout the entire innovation pathway—from concept generation and collaborative R&D to prototyping, performance and safety evaluation, commercialization, and regulatory strategy. Located within the Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster, one of Japan’s leading life science and healthcare innovation ecosystems, we leverage extensive networks across hospitals, universities, companies, and public organizations to accelerate open innovation and translational research. At WHX Osaka, we will showcase outcomes from industry–academia collaborations, examples of innovative medical technologies, and our comprehensive support programs for medical device development and commercialization.
