Our group (Department of Pathology, Kinki University Faculty of Medicine), drawing on our expertise in molecular pathology and diagnostic pathology, is collaborating with groups in the fields of applied physics and information science to develop innovative tumor diagnostic technologies using light scattering spectra of cells and tissues. This technology is currently being validated through collaborative research with multiple medical and research institutions, and we have already obtained a Japanese patent for this academia-originated intellectual property. Furthermore, we are currently proceeding with patent filing procedures in the United States, China, and Germany, with a view toward global expansion. Moving forward, we aim to further deepen our collaboration with partners in the medical and industrial sectors to achieve clinical implementation.
