The history of ERS The origins of vocational schools in our city date back over 200 years. In 1803, a Sunday school was founded with the aim of teaching apprentices and journeymen writing, arithmetic, and drawing. Today, three modern vocational schools in Hamelin, run by the district of Hamelin-Pyrmont, offer young people in our region a wide range of vocational training opportunities. The Eugen Reintjes School, with its focus on commercial and technical subjects, owes its name to the engineer and manufacturer Eugen Reintjes, whose production facility has now developed into a leading global company for marine gearboxes. Reintjes GmbH's connection to this school is also reflected in its logo and in its efforts to enable innovation through technology.
