The university has more than 4,000 undergraduates, graduate students, and clinical residents, including more than 1,000 foreign citizens from 35 countries who receive education in Russian and English. Gomel State Medical University is one of the most important centers of medical science in the Republic of Belarus. The main forms of research activity of an educational institution are the implementation of fundamental, applied and commercial contractual research work, as well as the organization and conduct of scientific conferences and seminars, training of personnel of the highest scientific qualifications, the organization of a student scientific society and the Council of Young Scientists, invention and innovation, publication of scientific literature (publication of monographs, journals, collections of articles and theses).
